@chris_mccord funny story: i rage-quite another plotting lib before writing uPlot v0.0.1 (which was 350 LOC). except of course back then it couldnt handle DST, timezones, or plotting 10M data points in 100ms. :P
@juliusvolz i plan to make this much better in v2, but until then, there are a couple approaches. long-form twitter covos are not my thing; let's take it to GH.
@juliusvolz haha, i should steal this as page 0 of the non-existent docs so people know what they're in for :D
โ some assembly / bread-boarding required โ
@juliusvolz@ntakashics@PrometheusIO rather than stacking, make an additional "sum" series. this avoids any ambiguity with stacking order or mis-interpretation of individual series trends.
it's less pretty tho ๐
@juliusvolz Perf-wise, Flot has aged surprisingly well, I gotta say.
Anyways, if you have a specific list of things you're missing from uPlot or worried about the implementation lift, def open a GH issue and I can see how feasible it is to make stuff work without too much effort.
@juliusvolz starting is easy, it's the finishing that's hard.
we just finished writing fast uPlot/React tooltips for most of our Grafana core panels. happy to help you fight uPlot if you haven't given up yet. just ping me on GH :)
@juliusvolz (Grafana core viz engineer here) honestly, every time i encounter one, i wish i didn't. they tend to be really misleading; eyes/brain gives too much weight to bar areas. https://t.co/XeBMKKoNe2. open to being convinced otherwise :) better here: https://t.co/VbouSedgbh
@mrkurt always nice to actually see screenshot of a uPlot deployment :). you should subset the font and use a variable font version if one is available to cover multiple weights in a single file.
@DanielRufde @smashingmag what's the relevance of getting coverage? dropcss does stylesheet & markup analysis to get its css "coverage" information, which does not rely on puppeteer or chrome - those are just used to execute any on-page JS (that may create additional html). i prefer this to slow jsdom.
@dobes "Mozilla acquired Pocket, and subsequently integrated it tightly into Firefox." you got that backwards, sir. They acquired it after a shitstorm: https://t.co/OxmGICnDjS
