@garrettmalt@Bill_Linnane@EnniskillenLad The bottom line is using Irish grain reduces carbon footprint . Each company has a responsibility to achieve environmental targets , it’s not “government interference” ,but more “corporate responsibility and integrity” driven
Darragh McCullough: The 'Irish' in Irish whiskey – derived from French grain, distilled in Scottish pot-stills, matured in American oak barrels, and owned by foreign conglomerates https://t.co/ZRAfbKTLbp
@ArableSam@Bill_Linnane I couldn’t agree more , Waterford distillery put Irish tillage farmers first , amazing story ,serious dedication to provenance . Also totally agree that an all Irish product is so easily achievable & will be given the recognition & protection it deserves
@Bill_Linnane@ArableSam More & better protection of the category will help resolve & clarify . The impact of which will have a massive effect on Irish agriculture with both tillage & dairy benefitting , but ultimately it comes down to the industry’s commitment to sustainability
@ArableSam@Bill_Linnane I think people have absolutely no idea it’s not Irish grain being used , not a clue actually. So yes , you are right , they expect/assume it to be from Irish grain , but unfortunately that’s not the case
