@Goog_Enough Both are bizarre lists. What are they even supposed to be? Never tried Hostinger's native website builder but can't imagine it's better than Squarespace or Shopify.
@TheSocialDude Totally. This saved me a lot of time chasing my tail when it just straight up told me a video failed because we didn’t sufficiently prove ownership, and in another case there was insufficient outdoor signage.
@dozenrose Also curious what happens if a business has an automated answering system with numeric or voice prompts. Will this not work for those businesses? Would they need to do away with those to be eligible for this service?
@dozenrose Wow, this is super interesting. Can you share any info about how these two industries were chosen for testing? Very curious about auto repair given that can be complex and require detailed, accurate information to deliver efficient service.
@lovelybaie@GMerchantCenter@GoogleAds Same. Been 48 hours now and talking to support but no one's acknowledged there's an issue yet. Losing sales by the minute 😡...
@GMerchantCenter@GoogleAds The ID verification form for Merchant Center is broken. Submitted multiple tickets that are getting automatically rejected and redirecting back to broken form. Need help resolving ASAP to re-enable shopping ads and listings.
@GMerchantCenter But is there a right way to do that if you aren’t shipping products? One of the requirements in that link you shared is shipping. Many small businesses sell products that people search for but don’t ship them, and should appear in a shopping search.
@GMerchantCenter I can’t - tickets get rejected because of the very issue I’m trying to solve, pointing back toward broken form as only solution. I submit ticket saying form is broken and I get this email saying you can’t submit ticket until you submit form. 😵💫
I recently saw some national data for the average number of Google reviews for certain types of businesses, compared those numbers to small businesses in our downtown commercial district, and found a few surprises.

@DarrenShaw_ Big Q I have is relation of reviews to customers, eg what’s expected for a restaurant with 100 seats vs 25. For instance, in that data a “clothing store” avgs 287 but “boutique” avgs 34, likely bc in a city it’s a Nordstrom vs a tiny shop. Good % to target would be really useful.
@DarrenShaw_ Wow. You. Are. Awesome. I’m comparing this data to the 200+ business district in my hometown to help small business owners get a better idea where they stand on review counts compared to “good” for a major metro in similar categories. Really useful. Thank you!
@DarrenShaw_ No problem. I also saw/heard you made a Local U presentation on your findings back in October. Is there a way to view that presentation? Looked on Local U and couldn't find a recording but let me know if I can buy/subscribe somewhere to see it!
Almost all Americans say small businesses are positive influences on society. There's a really easy way to support them that more consumers need to think about: leaving Google reviews.

@DarrenShaw_@JoyanneHawkins Huh, had a local business owner just mention to me last week that they were afraid to ask people to leave reviews on-site because they might get flagged. Guess there's something to it after all.
