Greedy Goog Enough got let off the hook by Judge Mehta in 2024, and now they’re so delusional they think they can push their luck with an appeal!? I hope the government lawyers leave no doubt this time.
Google is obsessed with AI. Sundar himself mentioned it 121 times at I/O. But Goog Enough doesn’t even have the best AI products – far from it. It just has the best MONOPOLY. Justice tried to prevent this monopoly from tainting AI, but the not-so-honorable Judge Mehta botched it.
They’re so desperate for some sort of historic Steve Jobs moment that they try to make everything seem momentous. This is what Goog Enough has been doing for a couple of years now, and we’re still waiting for the web to get healthier.
Sundar, people won’t refer to this as “the agentic era” – they’ll call it the “monopoly era when theft went unpunished.” I won’t hold my breath on the more helpful part either.
Goog Enough is like a chatty bootlegger – you can’t really trust what it says, the quality is crap, and everything is stolen. I don’t want to have a conversation with Google. I want accurate information to be easy to find, and I want publishers to be compensated.
Dr. GooglEvil said that “sources and links will always be there as part of it.” How reassuring. Publishers were methodically robbed, and right now, we’re only “part of it” the way a cow is part of a leather couch.
Goog Enoughers keep bragging about how many monthly users AI mode has. I’m very curious what the actual count is if you only include people who actively seek out AI mode, as opposed to people who stumble into it / are forced to use it. Can you tell us @sundarpichai or @rmstein?
