Several times I've pulled an adapter out of the cupboard to resurrect some equipment, only to find it's a Prolific and they have planned some obsolescence into their driver.

@gwybod @brianwhelton It probably should be sealed up in some manner :) I'm guessing this was an afterthought to solve an EPR problem like in my situation. At least in my case they sprayed it with some cold-gal before knocking off for the day.
