18: don’t marry him. You’re scared & you feel like you have nowhere to go but you do. You’re stronger than you think.
21: it’s okay. You were brave & now your life is in shambles, but you will rebuild. You will learn.
25: you made it. There are struggles but you are doing so good
@SimonMagus Many people on Twitter don’t visit libraries because we have access to internet. For those who don’t, it is an essential social program for education, applying for jobs, applying to government programs etc
@Sweeter_Vegan@serpentoflight_ @rootedwithsoul Then they will starve to death and the parents are abusive if they don’t give them cookies apparently. 🙄
@_danielleharman @darth___simon @serpentoflight_ @rootedwithsoul People can refuse to do things even with full communication. Your statement is largely misled. Parents don’t have to buy non essential items because a child wants them, and communicating why is awesome but they may still refuse to do it.
@_danielleharman @darth___simon @serpentoflight_ @rootedwithsoul Nobody said that extensive conversing, educating etc wouldn’t happen. If I explain why meth is bad and I don’t buy meth for my kids or allow my kids to do meth in my house is that problematic, especially if I’m offering a healthy alternative, which would be therapy?
@_danielleharman @darth___simon @serpentoflight_ @rootedwithsoul That’s great, but children still won’t starve if you don’t give them whatever foods they want as long as you’re offering healthy food choices. To agree that doing that is abuse is harmful.
@darth___simon @_danielleharman @serpentoflight_ @rootedwithsoul Absolutely correct, nobody said they wouldn’t be educating and communicating with the child. But if a child says they want to do something that you don’t think is right, as their parent, enforcing that moral compass is not only valid but important.
@serpentoflight_ @rootedwithsoul Nobody said that they don’t care about a child’s voice. But if my child’s voice said it wanted to steal a kids bike, I would have to overrule that of reasoning with them wasn’t effective. You can listen and communicate, but don’t let your kids do unhealthy immoral things???
@_danielleharman @darth___simon @serpentoflight_ @rootedwithsoul So you think that you should buy your children things you morally, ethically disagree with for scientifically proven reasons including health reasons? You called to abuse to not buy a child a food that is not healthy for them.
@_danielleharman @darth___simon @serpentoflight_ @rootedwithsoul My parents told me why I couldn’t have bugles for every meal. Children aren’t always able to be reasoned with. I WANTED them. Was it healthy? What if they were sourced unethically? Lead with education and communication, but don’t let them do whatever if that doesn’t work. Jesus
@_danielleharman @darth___simon @serpentoflight_ @rootedwithsoul Huh weird I didn’t starve when I went on the bugle strike of ‘99 and refused to eat if it wasn’t bugles. Lasted 2 hours. Kids won’t starve themselves to death if you don’t buy them anything they want to eat, dumbass
@rootedwithsoul Lmao girl I wanted to be vegan so I had to buy my own vegan products. She’s saying she’ll feed them things she ethically believes in that is completely healthy, not buying your child a steak isn’t abuse
Got a glass of wine at an establishment and thought it looked really small. Realized that hey don’t do the whole “fill it to the brim to save you a few trips to the bottle” trick.
If you don’t apologize to someone for hurting them because you were able to justify your actions, you’re kind of a shitty person. You can & should be sorry for causing pain, even if you feel your actions weren’t intended to cause it.
