Unbidden unc take:
I like zoomer slang way more than millennial slang.
The millennial distinctives were nonsense words like “fleek” and “yeet.” Vapid, unmoored to anything.
Zoomer slang like “chopped” or “cooked” has a certain grounded physicality.
The conceit that people in the past were all dumb, gullible rubes to whom we are obviously & profoundly intellectually superior is a defining feature of our own era. It keeps us from grappling in a real way with deep questions about the nature of reality, esp. regarding religion.
