Ogni estate assistiamo alle stesse immagini. Baraccopoli che vanno a fuoco, lavoratori costretti a vivere in condizioni disumane, braccianti sfruttati e abbandonati nell'indifferenza generale.

Ma il problema non è l'emergenza del momento. Il problema si chiama caporalato, sfruttamento e schiavitù del lavoro.

Mentre una parte della politica alimenta la guerra tra poveri, indicando nel migrante il nemico da combattere, si continua a ignorare ciò che accade ogni giorno nelle campagne, nei magazzini e in tanti luoghi di lavoro del nostro Paese.

Persone costrette a lavorare per pochi euro l'ora, spesso senza contratto, senza tutele, senza diritti. E questo non riguarda solo i cittadini stranieri: riguarda migliaia di lavoratori italiani che vivono sulla propria pelle il dramma del lavoro povero.

Oggi in Italia oltre 2,6 milioni di persone lavorano e restano comunque povere. È una vergogna che dovrebbe occupare le prime pagine dei giornali e l'agenda della politica.
