@sladkow Moot point bc y'all won, but I was there and this didn't happen. Jays fans were loudly booing Woo for the HBP, which got louder when it was clear he was actually hurt. M's fans were largely quiet. Schnieder was playing victim postgame to fire up fans and everyone took the bait.
Once again, insane that it’s just received wisdom that ya gotta pivot to the right to get conservative voters. They already have a party and you do it at the cost of your base. It’s not even complicated, it’s just dumb
The Mariners front office whenever they find a new way to squeeze a little more juice out of the empty husk of fan goodwill remaining from the 95 season.
@reallygordon Gotta go with Very Emergency by The Promise Ring. Just threw it on in the car this morning and it rocks. Great summer record too, so June is the perfect time to get obsessed.
@Softykjr WA has the most regressive tax system in the US. The problem isn't transit tax, it's that we don't have income/wealth tax like most states so everything else has to close the gap. Taxes (sales, gas, tabs, liquor, property, B&O, etc) are sky high because we're backwards at the top
@FranziaMom I’d heard of them before but was always vaguely put off by the double-v in their name, so for me it’s Hovvdy. Probably just my favorite release of the year so far, no qualifiers: https://t.co/icJkdWSKDL
@FranziaMom the burger (and everything else) at sylvain rips. the sandwiches at turkey & the wolf and the po boys at parkway tavern are very popular but both places live up to the hype. marie's is a great dive with great food. cochon butcher is incredible. such an amazing food city, enjoy!
@FranziaMom Also, it’s tempting to go straight back to the classics but even if you’re dedicated some of those films can be super slow by modern standards. I’d start with the 70s-90s and then move back/forward in time from there based on the influences of the stuff you’re enjoying!
@FranziaMom Recommend making a list of directors and checking out 1-2 films from each to get a sense for what you like! I think you’d dig De Palma (Blow Out), Altman (Long Goodbye), Kar-Wai (Chungking Express), Lumet (Dog Day Afternoon), Pakula (President’s Men), and Carpenter (The Thing).
@BrendanMenapace This is a specialty of mine. Is this for a visit or are you moving here? And if it’s the former, do you know what part of town you’re staying in?
@jamieloftusHELP Really enjoyed “30-50 feral hogs” guy. He burned bright and disappeared quickly, which is much better than a Ken Bone situation (instantly annoying, dragged on forever).
Also loved “meet me in temecula” guy who wanted to fight someone from Twitter about Kobe Bryant. Classic.
@FranziaMom Before I even clicked I was like “if I don’t see Northstar I’m gonna be logging on to do some posting” so thank god it’s there because I don’t really have the time today.
