BREAKING: Democratic lawmakers band together to urge President Biden to take decisive action on federal marijuana law before Donald Trump takes power in January.
This could be a powerful capstone to Biden's legacy...
In their letter to Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Democratic Representatives Barbara Lee, Earl Blumenauer, and Ilhan Omar along with Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden asked the administration to move marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule III controlled substance.
This change would make marijuana a far less severe drug and acknowledge that it could possess medical value.
Although such a change would certainly amount to meaningful progress, the lawmakers also stated that it "it will not end federal criminalization, resolve its harms, or meaningfully address the gap between federal and state cannabis policy."
"Possession and use of recreational marijuana — and much state-legal medical marijuana — will continue to be a violation of federal law," the letter added.
"President Biden should issue broader clemency — including another round of pardons and commutations to reduce sentences or end terms of — for individuals convicted of other cannabis-related offenses," the lawmakers added. "Additionally, the President should again urge state governors to expand marijuana clemency and decriminalize low-level marijuana conduct under state law."
Such a move would be supported by the vast majority of the American people and is long overdue.

BREAKING: Rudy Giuliani's fall from grace hits a humiliating new low as a federal judge orders him to turn over his valuable possessions and beloved Manhattan penthouse apartment to the election workers he defamed.
And that's not all...
Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, the Georgia election workers in question, are owed $150 million from the mayor-turned-MAGA-minion.
Judge Lewis Liman said that Giuliani must hand over his interest in the property in seven days. Freeman and Moss will then be able to sell it — likely for millions of dollars.
Giuliani must also hand over his collection of expensive watches, including a few given to him by European leaders in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, a signed Joe DiMaggio jersey and assorted sports memorabilia, and the 1980s Mercedes that was once owned by actress Lauren Bacall.
As if that weren't enough, he must also hand over his television and furniture.
On top of that, the women will be entitled to the $2 million in legal fees that Giuliani claims he is owed by the Trump campaign.
This is justice!
