@daughterofagnes@AOC @daughterofagne asking the above question implies a degree of racism... it assumes black and brown communities have lesser behaviors or knowledge. Trump and white christians are pushing to go to church publicly... but you aren't asking whether those communities 'not practicing'
Currently leading in our poll: @curaffairs , @inthesetimesmag, and @PacificStand -- There's a few surprises in there too! Let's get up the responses! https://t.co/wZlvBos7m2
Tell us what you think the best left magazines are! This will help us do better article recommendations, and it's just damn interesting https://t.co/wZlvBos7m2
"RSS readers need to get a lot smarter about marketing and on-boarding. They need to actively guide users to find where the best content is, and help them curate their feeds with algorithms"
Timely article. This is the kind of stuff we are trying to do. https://t.co/fOJoO0rZNj
If you can we'd be thrilled to get your help- we can't decide on what to do next to make lefttimes more awesome. What do you think? https://t.co/xTZwsmei6x
For those that have been reading closely you'll notice that we made some updates to our feed. We've added @PacificStand, @belt_magazine and @mtaibbi in the aggregator and jiggered the ratings of the publications to get closer to having just good analysis/reporting in the feed.
What do you all think about the recency of the articles in our feed? We keep top shared articles for up to 3 days in the feed... is that too long? Should we emphasize recency more or keep the emphasis on must-reads?
@appreviewwatch Elaborating.. in our original build, we were always crediting sources and authors, we always launched their full unmodified articles in an in-app browser and we provided ways to copy/share their articles outside the app. But for some reason... the articles had to launch in Safari
@appreviewwatch We tried communicating with Apple to find alternatives that would lend themselves to a decent UX, but Apple basically just gave us canned messages. They even initially rejected our current build... almost as though they weren't really looking at it at all.
@appreviewwatch We are now launching all articles into Safari. We don't agree with Apple here and think that rule 5.2.2 is being selectively applied in a really unfair way - but it's Apple's rules so we had to play ball - and having an app with bad UX is more important for us than having no app.
Great news! Our app is now live on the iTunes store! Get it here: https://t.co/McKUxmVDZa
You can also download our Android app here: https://t.co/bZRP6wZ4dn
We credit all content to authors and publications, and show all articles in the websites they are published on without modification. We even acquiesced and gave Apple a build where we launched articles outside our app in Safari - but still - we just got the same canned response.
Looks like we won't have an iOS app anytime soon. Apple's view of what infringes on copyright is being applied incredibly selectively. We are basically doing the same thing as Flipboard - where you pick topics to follow and we show you content - but they are rejecting our app.
