Tendulkar's numbers in this century read 19,945 runs at an average of 49, along with 110 wickets.
Even if you remove all those numbers, his record in the previous century still stands at 14,412 runs at an average of 48, along with 91 wickets. He scored centuries in 10 different countries, amassed 1,059 World Cup runs at an average of 59, and averaged 69 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. All of this was achieved before 2000.
I don't know on what basis this award was given. But I've always believed that Tendulkar is the SI unit of batting. Every batting achievement should be measured in x of Tendulkar.
If Surya is being taken out of captaincy and Indian team spot as being reported, we shouldn't question the selectors. Who comes in his place might be a debate, rotten form with the bat is the reason perhaps.
Over the last 3 years, T20I squad decisions have been decent enough.

Many congratulations to RCB, back to back titles isn't easy. As much as we credit the players, very happy for Andy Flower and co. Top class coaching staff, man management and strategic decisions right from the auctions. Very hard to stop them next year unless some trades happen.
This IPL, observed an interesting pattern. Once a player has come into the side, they have transformed the sides into gun ones.
GT- Jason Holder
RCB- Venkatesh Iyer
SRH- Sakib Hussain
RR- Brijesh Sharma
Other teams have sort of struggled find the combination.
