I’m a gay Republican. And it’s the Democrats’ fault.

For the past 15 years, I’ve witnessed the authoritarian destruction of my home state of Colorado under one-party Democrat rule:
- Skyrocketing crime
- Growing homelessness
- Graffiti, trash, and vandalism
- Public drug use
- Budgetary bankruptcy
- An explosion in taxes and fees
- Blatant corruption
- Businesses closing and fleeing
- An authoritarian state government and leftist mob that threatens dissenters.

Democrats in Colorado make convenient things illegal, and illegal things convenient.

They ban plastic bags but decriminalize drugs (and now prostitution).

They seize zoning decisions from small towns but let the homeless camp at the State Capitol.

They sue cake shops for declining custom orders and funnel millions in taxpayer funds to their own nonprofits.

They cover up queer grooming in their union-run schools and put biological boys in girls’ locker rooms, hotel rooms, and sports teams.

They trample on free speech by making it illegal to “misgender” mentally ill people.

They abort children for any reason up until birth, make taxpayers pay for it, and sue alternative pregnancy resource centers for simply providing options.

They spend billions on housing and healthcare for illegal immigrants but fire citizens who won’t get a vaccine.

They claim Trump is a dictator but spent millions in taxpayer funds to remove him from the ballot. And now they’re pushing to override our Constitution to gerrymander Republicans out of Congress—the only place non-leftists have political representation left in this state.

The results of Democrat rule in Colorado speak for themselves. Colorado is one of the most violent states in America. It leads in property crime and car theft. It’s near the top in human trafficking, insurance rate hikes, and cost of living. People and businesses are leaving. Our state budget is in a perpetual deficit crisis. And the Democrat supermajority blames its perennial incompetence on Donald Trump.

Even before I became a Republican, for noticing these things I’ve been called a maggot, a pick-me gay, a fascist, and a Nazi. Leftists have doxxed me, threatened my employer, and threatened my life.

People ask me, “How can you be a gay man and a Republican?” It’s a rational decision.

How could I look at the lawlessness, destruction, and violence caused by leftism in my home state and NOT join the fight against it? What future will my niece and nephew have in this state if it continues down the suicidal Democrat party path?

I get that many of you dislike Trump. But you can’t let your irrational hatred of a short-term president give a free pass to Democrats at local, state, and national levels to continue their long-term destructive policies. That’s what the leftist machine wants: It wants you to be so blinded by hatred and fear and identity politics that you don’t notice failed results.

Break free from false boxes. Be a gay Republican. Be a common sense Democrat or independent. And don’t let optics and manufactured outrage prevent you from making rational decisions.
