I made a mistake that nearly cost me my brand.

The funny thing is, I didn’t even realise I was doing something wrong until someone pointed it out to me.

If you knew me around last year and early this year, you know I was always posting helpful writing tips and threads. I don’t know the spirit that entered me to unleash my funny side here.

Ladies and gentlemen, that’s how I drifted away o.

The funniest part is that I didn’t even realise I was drifting away from my content format until recently when Boss @TeaonaX and @10Xofweb3 reviewed my page.

The day Boss T reviewed my page was during @Thanistarr’s subscribers space, he didn’t really have time to scroll down to see the content I pushed out because other people were waiting. If not, maybe he would have graded me F9. 😂

If there’s one thing I picked from that space, it’s that I need to document my process more. That's why you see me posting my reviews, wins and what I'm doing in the space now.

Then came 10X’s subscribers’ space. This man had time that day. He actually went through my page properly.

According to him, the only thing making people know I’m a Web3 account was my PFP. 😭😂 (cries in ekun egbere)

To make matters worse, one of my mutuals on CT tagged me as their “favourite meme creator.”

I said ah… so I don become comedian without collecting salary? 😭

Those two reviews were honestly the wake-up call I needed. They pushed me back to my drawing board and back to the content pillars I had neglected.

Content pillars are like those few things that make people remember your page.

They’re the topics you keep coming back to. So when someone visits your profile, they don’t have to start guessing what you do.

For instance, your page can be known for educational posts, your journey, crypto market updates, memes, hot takes, or tutorials. Those become the things people expect from you because you’ve been consistent with them.

The funny thing is you don’t even notice when one pillar starts shouting over the others. 😭

In my case, memes became the loudest voice on my page. So loud that people forgot I was the girl who loved talking about writing and Web3.

And honestly, I can’t even blame them. That’s what I was giving them.

Right now, I have 4 to 5 content pillars I intentionally rotate. The memes are still there because I mean we need to laugh sometimes, but they now sit beside every other thing I want to be known for instead of taking over my whole page.

It’s funny how a little structure can change the way people see your brand.
