The project, which specializes in AI training data (via its "Trace" registry), has announced that it will sunset its independent chain and run its protocol natively on Sui.

Maintaining a blockchain dedicated to a single use case is costly involving expenses related to validators, security, and infrastructure. With over 250 million records already on Trace, the combination of Sui and Walrus provides the scalability and decentralized storage the project requires.

- The $DATA token will migrate to Sui at a 1:1 ratio.
- Locked/vesting positions will be carried over as-is.
- Trace will join the Sui ecosystem.
- Walrus will become the default storage layer.
- The Sui Foundation is making a $30 million investment.

The current chain will remain active until the migration is complete. A detailed timeline and transition plan for token holders will be released before the upgrade begins.
