it's my birthday 🌊 i'd really appreciate it if you could rt my art as a simple present 🍀
everything i create is from my soul. and i thank you for appreciating it _(:3 」∠)_ thank you for being here :")
@xxx_Jojihoe_xxx Sometimes I'll put my finger on the post and stop the refresh *just* in the nick of time. I love when my gamer instincts (derogatory) help me rescue porn I wanna see.
@murder_turd@akachi_is@FLEveraI I think pulp superhero stuff is great, and also superhero movies that know what superheroes are: depictions of power. Batman (2022) and Superman (2025) are great recent examples of this. It lends itself to engaging narratives and characters you want to root for.
@murder_turd@akachi_is@FLEveraI For sure! I enjoy a good superhero movie as well. Some say superheroes are kind of like American mythology—the same way the Greek/Roman myth deities were how people interpreted/depicted/caricaturized *power* at the time, be it natural disasters or political figures.
@murder_turd@akachi_is@FLEveraI damn. you summed it up so concisely. saving this for when I need to explain to someone why most recent superhero movies feel like the visual equivalent of empty calorie foods. cheers!
@Sombolding@SamuelLearns@sunnkssdseraph I think some folks here are having some trouble with reading comprehension and context analysis. I'm with you, though! I also think the way you phrased it is easier to digest than OP's post
@Nehconk@stebob4@Jokezm2 It's also tough to figure out precisely since it always happens in the twilight between wakefulness and sleep. Here's to hoping we gain clarity as the years pass by!
@Nihildeath@Estacion_30y3@marimallow_ That what I've gathered from seeing ppl talk about the full length version. It's great that the director/creator got the chance to make it into a full movie though! Filmmakers need chances to try and see what sticks (artistically & commercially) so they know what to try next
@humblethirstfo1@JAGtheJager@naranciagaming "Objective" and "art" tend to come up in convo when there are strong opinions, but it doesn't make the art or artist better or worse--it just tells us you feel strongly about it. Why? That's where the interesting convo can be had! It's more enjoyable than arguing about it ☺️
@humblethirstfo1@JAGtheJager@naranciagaming I'm with you here. Art is subjective, so a discussion of art ofc involves opinions, perspectives, and considerations of how those interact.
@naranciagaming it is amazing when you come across a tweet that concisely sums up a thing that your brain has been sensing and mulling over for years but couldn't quite nail until coming across the tweet
@Nehconk@stebob4@Jokezm2 I've done something similar with shapes and shadows in the dark, mostly as a child. I thought it was just my imagination—never thought to look at it as a sleep issue, but this gives me food for thought.
@Jokezm2@kair1n I can't tell if Meog is joking or not, but I'm reminded of horror movies where the tormented protagonist's best friend tries to make them feel better by tasteless joking about it.
@oxbits@DailyJLee Thanks for sharing your experience. I used to mask at work events but slowly gave up because of polite peer pressure from rooms full of uh, women with Stanley cups lol. I had kind of given up, but your post gives me some strength to mask again at work.
@ladylovesred@mooncatvivi The generation before me went "Okay, so that was rough. But I'm all good now. Hey I could probably raise my own child!"
They took their bottle of Sprite and gave me a can of Starry lol. At least it's enjoyable sometimes
@lovelygalkia@thisisnefertiti This was a school for special needs students, but I wish things like this were standard for all schools. Kind of like home economics in high school. Why did we stop doing home ec classes??
@lovelygalkia@thisisnefertiti An acquaintance said their elementary school would ask them to take off their jacket & shoes, then put them back on to ensure they had sufficient fine motor skills (among other things).
