@thejournal_ie Wow, funny that all I seen was the @thejournal_ie and @rtenews demonisation of the protestors. Hit pieces, the lot!!! The govt really are out of touch, I thought we lived in a democracy. Looks like we have to just put up and shut up 🤷🏻♂️
People moaning about the #fuelprotest are very naive!! They’ll be the same people giving out about grocery prices, no school buses and pump prices themselves in a matter of days/weeks. This affects all of us and fair play to the protesters. They’re official reps have failed them!
@todayonx2024 So there’s been no govt reaction no??? They love people like you who keep quiet and do what they’re told. You’re exactly the naive type I’m talking about. If you can’t see the bigger picture that’s on you.
They have the govt rattled now, esp with O’Callaghans threats of army intervention! Years of talking down and inaction has led to this. It’s the only way they’re gonna take notice. Their pathetic response so far proves it’s working. Inconvenient yes, necessary, absolutely!!
@Billie_T Really don’t get the De Zerbi thing?? He is the opposite of what we want, he’ll be a bigger disaster than Frank!! Who is it pushing for him because it’s certainly not the fans??? We bring him in now we’re relegated. Simple as!!
@1DonalMurphy@paddypower I backed him online with PP 5 mins before post time @22/1. Was absolutely baffled when he won he return 33/1?? Doesn’t seem plausible. Noticed all through Aintree their prices have been shorter than other firms. With no best price guarantee they have everything in their favour.
IMPORTANT: Leo Varadkar accidentally said the quiet part out loud in the below video. He has urged people not to share this clip under any circumstances. Thank you.
I truly believe the Hate Speech Bill which is set to become law in the next few weeks is the most draconian and illiberal piece of legislation that I’ve seen anywhere in the Western world.
The question I most often get from people who are as concerned as I am is:
“What can we do to stop it?”
I’ve been pondering this for many weeks and the answer is due to the overwhelming support within the Oireachtas for the bill, I’m not convinced we can do anything at this late stage. There are however people within the Dáil on all sides of the aisle who do have reservations about this bill, so by all means contact your local TDs and Senators and implore them to see reason and to do everything in their power to not take the country down this perilous road.
If that fails then you should engage canvassers and politicians who knock on your door and let them know that you believe in freedom of speech for everyone and will not vote for them or their party while they support keeping this law.
The most important thing you can do is speak to family, friends and speak out against it on social media. Sure those who desperately want this legislation will attack you and call you all sorts of names, because that’s all they have left, but by refusing to be cowed by their baseless smears you are sending a message not only to the smear merchants, but more importantly to the people who are listening what you’re saying, agreeing with you and thinking if you can do it, then they can do it too.
If enough people do that then we will be successful. If enough people do that we will win.
@RacingPost We’ve had to endure @itvracing fawning over him all season, so much so had to just stop watching!! Every race at R Ascot was about him. Took away from the spectacle. We all knew he wasn’t gonna retire, narcissism at its best 🙄🤮
I'm sorry but listening to Tánaiste Micheál Martin lecturing people for the second time in a week about freedom of speech while his government is actively working to pass the greatest assault on freedom of speech in the history of the State is a complete farce. Ultimate hypocrite
@Michael_O_Regan You and your Govt cheerleading is part of the reason we’re in this mess!! It’s a big disgusting love in between you all. Mouthpiece for the govt is all you are!!
