@robhawkes Worth looking at the Ecoflow Stream series of inverters / batteries as in all in one solution. I just got 1kwp of solar panels, a 2kwh battery and everything needed to connect them for under £1k. Their app is fantastic. Payback will be <5yrs on standard tarriff and <3yrs on IOG.
@theweeflea@Nigel_Farage@bbcnickrobinson A principled alternative to Reform is needed. They have absorbed many of the very politicians responsible for the disasters of the last decade. Farage is interested in winning no matter the cost and will not take a stand against the spreading influence of Islam.
@robhawkes I work for a company that does a lot of environmental survey / EIA work for proposed onshore wind farms so I'm in and about wind farms all the time. I'd love to have live generation stats visualised for sites I'm visiting. I'm just a geek for energy stats! Keep up the good work!
@heatpolicyrich We live in a draughty old two bed Victorian flat with high ceilings and loft insulation. We've used around £4 day this month. £1.60 on ⚡and £2.40 on 🔥. WFH most days, but only heat one room unless there's guests. Open fire also helps top up the living room temps some evenings.
@theweeflea@gordonhudsonnu@NicolaSturgeon A large proportion of the green levy is actually used to pay for providing insulation to those who can't afford it and also covers the Warm Homes Discount scheme. We do subsidise renewables through the CfD when the price is below the agreed, but if prices are high its paid back.
@theweeflea@gordonhudsonnu@NicolaSturgeon David, I really appreciate your weekly podcasts, but think you should do some more research on this issue as it frustrates me whenever you bring it up. Onshore wind and solar now provide the cheapest form electricity generation.
@gordonhudsonnu@JillBelch@theweeflea@NicolaSturgeon Yes, if you fiddle the numbers Scotland produces enough renewable electricity in a year to supply its needs, but when the wind doesn't blow we still burn lots of expensive gas at Peterhead Power Station: https://t.co/fbJoLUMk4D
@scotfamparty It is nice! Good to see public servants using public transport. As for how the electricity is generated the national grid post that online. You'd be surprised how quickly we're moving away from burning non renewable resources. This is the energy mix just now:
