My thoughts on the debate:
I thought Ty Masterson made himself look like a fool. Far too often, his answer seemed to be nothing more than, โTrump endorsed me.โ While I support Trump, his endorsement alone is not enough to earn my vote, especially when he has endorsed candidates I disagree with in the past.
In my opinion, Ty Masterson has been a failure on issues such as health freedom, election integrity, and tax relief.
Charlotte OโHara faces an uphill battle because she lacks the name recognition of some of the other candidates. However, I was impressed by how prepared she was. She consistently came to the debate armed with facts and data, and she was ready with them every time. Philip also brought some good facts to the discussion, but Charlotte was much more consistent in backing up her arguments.
Philip made several strong points, but I thought he often failed to answer questions directly. That said, I believe he has a real chance to win. If elected, he would be smart to bring Charlotte OโHara into his administration or work with her in some capacity. He would be wise to listen to her perspective and expertise.
I also think Philip needs to make a clear public statement about where he stands on election integrity and release a detailed plan outlining his proposals.
As for Scott Schwab, I strongly disagree with how he has handled Kansas elections and do not believe he is capable of winning fairly. He needs to be held accountable for stealing Kansas elections.
One of my favorite moments of the debate was hearing Charlotte OโHara talk about the Highway 69 expansion project and the toll road. I think the Highway 69 rebuild was a wasteful project, and I appreciated that she was willing to challenge it. While I disagree with her on election integrity issues, I appreciated the facts she brought to the discussion and thought she made several excellent points throughout the night.
Overall, Charlotte OโHara was the most prepared candidate on the stage. Philip has a real opportunity to win, but he needs to be more direct, take a stronger public stance on election integrity, and seriously consider bringing Charlotte into his administration. Her knowledge and attention to detail would be an asset to his team.
