@writingwkay People often like to blame the one who has been harmed. “If they’d been more careful, this wouldn’t have happened.” (AKA, it wouldn’t have happened to *me*). You did everything right, and it happened anyway. Because S&S was in the wrong, not you. Best wishes for your book. ❤️
@alennander I feel this so much, and so sorry it’s happening for you. Just know you couldn’t be in this position if you hadn’t come up with your story in the first place! It obviously has strong merit, and that says a lot about your skills as a writer. 🥰
@KellyMalacko@TobieCarter6190 Haha! I’ve thought about that, but I worry parents would Google me and wonder if I can write about murder and work with their kids at the same time!
As much as I don’t want weeks to pass before I return to my WIP, it feels so wonderful to pick it back up, read recent scenes and think: Wait, I wrote that?!? I may actually have something here!!

@heatherllevy That’s terrible. It’s as though people in certain positions are not allowed to be human. Never mind that it’s their humanity, compassion, and empathy that make teachers so good at their jobs.
As much as I want to be a published author (and I really hope I am one day!), I’d rather my children see me keep trying for my dreams so they grow up chasing theirs.

I’m using a focus app to write in small chunks of time, one interval at a time. Just finished my first 20-minute session. Do I have time for another before work? I think so!
