The past five days have been an astounding display of Lancaster watchmaking heritage and legacy. Thank you all for an extraordinary National Convention and Time Symposium, we couldn't have done it without you!
@SamanthaTaghoy The horological degree is highly sought after, difficult to get onto and very relevant. It is NOT about changing a battery but covers the historical significance of clocks and watches, design, restoration and much more of a subject that without the world would come to a halt.
Hal has donated a large part of his wonderful skeleton clock collection to the NAWCC clock museum in Columbia, PA and whilst there to give a talk on carriage clocks during the convention who should I bump into, but Hal himself. Just wonderful.
A special moment… some 30 years ago I was working alongside renowned horologist Derek Roberts in Kent when we held the definitive exhibition on Skeleton Clocks to coincide with Derek’s book published on the subject. We had dealings with Hal Cherry, one of the great collectors.
