Chaired an important meeting on the holistic development of Loktak Lake at the Conference Hall of my Secretariat today.
The meeting was attended by Hon'ble Minister (Art & Culture / Tourism) Shri Kh. Loken Singh; Hon'ble MLAs Shri Th. Basanta Kumar Singh, Shri Th. Shanti Singh, Shri K. Robindro Singh, Shri T. Robindro Singh, Smt. Irengbam Nalini Devi, Shri S. Premchandra Singh and Dr. Usham Deben Singh.
The meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary Shri Rajeev Singh Thakur; Chairman of Loktak Development Authority (LDA) Shri Arun Kumar Sinha; Project Director, LDA, Shri Heisnam Balkrisna Singh, along with other senior officials.
The meeting deliberated on matters related to the sustainable development and protection of Loktak Lake and the proposed amendment of the Manipur Loktak Lake (Protection) Act, 2006.

The prestigious championship was organised by the Manipur Yoga Society in collaboration with the All India Yoga Federation under the theme "Yogasana for Health, Harmony and National Unity." The championship will be held from 2nd to 4th October, 2026.

Deeply saddened and shocked to learn the untimely and tragic demise of Dr. Engam Pame, IIS, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau (PIB) and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Imphal Regional Office and Shri Nampibou Marinmai, IIS, Director (News), Doordarshan Aizawl, who lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Mizoram. Both senior officers are residents of Tamenglong district, Manipur.
Their untimely departure is an irreplaceable loss to the nation. Their dedicated service and outstanding contributions to journalism and public communication will continue to inspire generations. Their legacy will be remembered forever with the highest respect and regard.
My heartfelt prayers and sincere condolences are with the bereaved families. May they find strength and courage to bear this difficult time.
