The question of whether to reform the filibuster boils down to whether we want a functional government or a dysfunctional one. This is how the Framers saw it. This is why they opposed the filibuster or anything like it, and why they created the Senate as a majority-rule body. 1/

We were notified today by @USDOT that client's #securityclearance was revoked for use of edible gummies w/#CBD that were unknowingly eaten bc friend didn't reveal contents.
Given a choice between Reid and Schumer, I’d pick Reid, but something I believe in my bones: If Schumer figures out a way to moot the filibuster and pass HR1 and the John Lewis Act, he’ll go down as the greatest congressional leader since LBJ. Either party, either chamber.
America must mobilize in support of HR1 becoming law. The filibuster must be eliminated or at worst revised to exclude its use in relation to voting rights legislation. Failure to do this may be fatal to our democracy, and that's not hyperbole.
This has moved past the insurrection attempt. We’ve learned that GOP members gave tours to insurrectionists, coordinated with their leaders, and are trying to carry guns on the House floor.
They're putting barriers around the Capitol, but the threat is on the inside right now.
Dear Coach Belichick:
This is one of those times. You don't get many moral and ethical choices that are this clear. Turn down the damn medal. It's the mark of fcking Cain.

“One current Metro D.C. police officer said in a public Facebook post that off-duty police officers and members of the military, who were among the rioters, flashed their badges and I.D. cards as they attempted to overrun the building.” https://t.co/TdQXsvnCTZ
Two heroes in this election:
Voting rights litigators who fought like hell for greater access to voting during the pandemic (not always succeeding given the courts)
Local election administrators, who made voting safe and accessible during the pandemic without enough $.
Thank you!
We must all make sure that no one in the outgoing administration secretly destroys any White House or Executive Branch document or e-mail or other record of the past four years that is required by law to be preserved.
