@SeaWorldTexas Nope, thanks. 🤢
I am already traumatized by the fact that @SeaWorld parks keep apex predators, family-focused, highly intelligent orcas, dolphins, belugas, etc. in shallow swimming pools. 😨

Laws, too can help, by passing laws in order that stems imported cetaceans from coming into aquariums. The Orca Protection Act, AB 2305, passed in California, bans holding orcas in captivity for performance or entertainment purposes. https://t.co/i194VS3ytS #39canimals
Bycatch is also another main problem for cetaceans in the wild. Convincing people to fish is hard but, we could save a great deal of cetaceans easily through initiatives like creating protected areas such as marine parks, while banning fishing. https://t.co/F3WIzb1P6t #39canimals
They started with dolphin hunting in 1969. If anything, the main motive seems to lie behind greed, as the dolphins captured can be worth $40000-$80000. Yet how exactly can this problem be solved? While it hard to pressure the government to change, businesses will. #39canimals
The Taiji “culture and tradition” in the past was not anything similar to what they do in Taiji today. Taiji residents as well as their local government claim that the history of hunting dolphins go back to the 400 years ago. #39canimals
However, Mr. Palmer, Associate Director at the International Marine Mammal Project states that “Taiji’s history with whaling goes back 400 years, but...the targets tended to be large humpback whales, not dolphins,” proving that culture and tradition is irrelevant. #39canimals
These little things all do form into big events in the end. The last 2 weeks, was a good example of this, where CEO of Seaworld, Joel Manby steps down due to a bad year with a quarterly loss of more than $20 million for Seaworld. #39canimals

While the Taiji hunt is hard to stop due to the heavy work and commitment we would have to do to persuade the Japanese government to change. Dolphin captivity, although indirect, supports these hunts and something we can easily affect. #39canimals
But why should the normal consumer not go to the businesses like Seaworld? The cetaceans held there often experience horrid conditions, from bruised beaks due touching to overchlroination burning their eyes to blindness. #39canimals
