NNPC Petrol Discount.
Tinubu is attempting to create a new class of overnight billionaires who will be instrumental to his re-election bid, through the reintroduction of fuel subsidy.
No wonder the IMF and World Bank have no problem with this brand of subsidy.
David Hundeyin: Africans Don't Recognise Neo-C*lonialism When It Appears In Blackface
In a recent conversation with former Black Panther Party New York chapter leader Dhoruba bin Wahad and @blackpowermedi co-founder Kalonji Changa, The Spearhead founder @DavidHundeyin revealed that he made it his mission in 2023 to show Africans that their current leaders are merely pin-ups who do not actually control the continent.
Hundeyin's previous news outlet, West Africa Weekly, regularly reported on how the US state and US corporations wield vast amounts of power across Africa without needing to physically set foot on the continent (with the notable exception of the US Africa Command [AFRICOM]). We’ve continued that insurgent tradition at The Spearhead since 2025.
What will it take for Africans to take back power? Drop us a comment.

Barca really can't handle any serious top team in the knockouts because they simply can't defend.
That top team will have the ball, will have their own transition moments, setpieces etc
Basically the Inter game all over again.
Burna Boy exploited our struggle to win a Grammy, then disappeared.
In that “Twice As Tall” album, He made a song with Chris Martin of Coldplay, “Monsters You Made” and added that famous quote “since we met you people 500 years ago” by Ama Ata Aidoo at the end of if.
Before then, he made another song “Another Story” with Ghanaian rapper M.anifest, where he featured the Nigerian origin story as a property of the Royal Niger Company.
I watched M.anifest recently in an interview and that brother is still very much awake. I can’t say the same for Burna.
It’s either Mr Ogulu was cosplaying or he’s really a sellout.
Here is a proper #throwback for you! As the calendar on the wall says, it's 1996. A moment in my office then. It wasn't always all fun being a vet doctor but I enjoyed working as one for 8 years.
Where are the locks? Still on the inside 😊
What were you up to in 1996?
Advertising Industry's Role In Cultural Imperialism In Africa
Have you ever glanced at a commercial on local TV in Nairobi, Lagos, Durban or Kigali and found yourself questioning why the characters, scenarios, voices, and sometimes even language does not represent the African audience that the commercial is apparently aimed at?
In this groundbreaking report for The Spearhead, @Big_Mck outlines the historical and economic rationale behind the weird and unsettling tradition of representing Africans using foreign depictions in African commercial messaging, and why this is not simply a quirky, harmless phenomenon.
The report examines how the marketing communications industry across Africa and the diaspora plays a pivotal role in creating and maintaining socially harmful ideas in the public imagination including racial, cultural and ethnic inferiority complexes, and the desire to "fix" or "mitigate" some aspect of African identity by spending money on consumer offerings.
Since YCee has awakened Nigerians to the “Olodo uprising” debate, here’s a report on how the big tech giants weaponize their algorithms to dumb down the Nigerian/African population.
It’s my favorite report for the @Spearhead_Af from last year, but evergreen. Make sure you follow the @Spearhead_Af for more of this every single day.
