« Halef, Urfa, Serhat... For example, it can motivate me even more mentally. That's why it is very valuable to me. » — In my opinion Serhat shaped a lot the İlhan we see today, and he’s now in his prime era, and seeing him blossoming once again is amazing 🧿🖤 • #halef#ilhanşen
@guloguz_@YouTube Keşke Serhat'ın tarzı biraz daha gelişse. Kıyafetlerini ve sakalını düzeltseler; ikinci sezon için tarzı daha iyi olurdu. 🖤

#İlhanŞen talks About Serhat 📿:
• İlhan Şen: By the time I joined, the cast was already pretty much set. Damla, for example, was one of the first to join the screenwriting team and the series... Our process was a bit back-and-forth, but... In the end, there were two options, man. One of the options was this: the guy goes, experiences some things over there...
• Host: By "the guy", you mean Serhat ağa.
• İlhan: Serhat aga goes there—I mean, Serhat goes and then becomes an ağa. Now, this felt very... cliché to me. I mean, in that sense... Because they’ve done a lot of work similar to that. You know, the guy goes, and all of a sudden you cut his hair, you do something to him... and suddenly there’s an instant transformation. An instant transformation is a very difficult thing. You can't just do that. If I asked you to play Fatih Altaylı, all of a sudden... I mean, while being a different person, you can't just become Fatih Altaylı. Now, the concept I built for myself was the exact opposite. I approached it more from a place like Clark Kent and Superman. After all, this guy already knows who he is, he knows what he is.
• İlhan: When you read the script, the first thing that comes to mind is a doctor becoming an ağa. No, man—it’s actually an ağa becoming a doctor...
• Host: That’s usually the natural way.
• İlhan: Exactly, an aga becoming a doctor. I mean...
• Host: He abandons being an ağa and chooses to be a doctor. Being an ağa follows him, but he rejects it and so on.
• İlhan: Exactly. So in short, the outcome is this: you have power, and you refuse to use this power. That’s what real power is. Once I discussed this with our producer and scriptwriter, and we argued about it among ourselves—in a good way—I accepted the role with that approach. After that, such a character emerged. In fact, at first people were like, "Okay, this guy is a doctor, but when did he become an ağa?" I tried to explain it for a long time: "I was already an ağa. This is where I grew up. Don't I know what kind of place I've gotten myself into?"
• Host: Your outfit, style, attitude, and so on don't really look like an ağa's. You look more like an Istanbul guy.
• İlhan: You also need to separate it at some point, man. I mean, ultimately, in the work you do, you have to give something to the audience. Whether in the character of Yıldız, Aşır, or Serhat... We actors, among ourselves, also really like to subtly distinguish ourselves.
