I'm really glad there's a private space company out there that no longer needs NASA and can focus on practical things instead of token efforts with resource wasting requirements.

Why sustain Dragon when you can focus on Starship?
Why support CLD when you can enable LEO presence yourself at much greater scale with Starship?

NASA will be late to the party when it comes to properly utilizing Starship, just like they missed an opportunity with COTS D and again with Dragon & FH for lunar ops. But SpaceX can now afford to not wait for them.

HSF no longer has to be stunted by NASA's lack of vision and boldness. And that's pretty awesome.

SpaceX has just officially announced Starbase, Louisiana, a new $100+ billion spaceport in South Louisiana near Pecan Island.

Construction starts in 2027, with the first Starship launch from the new site planned for 2029.

Starbase, Louisiana will be built to support thousands of Starship flights a year. This self-sustaining spaceport will have propellant production, power generation, deep-water shipping capabilities, vehicle processing facilities, and an airport.

SpaceX is committed to investing at least $100 billion and creating more than 3,000 new jobs at Starbase, Louisana hiring heavily from nearby communities and utilizing Louisiana workers’ extensive experience of building complex infrastructure in their unique environment.

In Vermilion Parish, the shoreline is eroding between 3.3 and 23 feet per year. SpaceX is partnering with state and federal agencies to expand Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan and Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act projects, including Gulf shoreline protection breakwaters designed to reduce wave energy and slow loss along the Gulf edge.

@Blaze_R935 Let's just for example say half of those are Starlink/Starmind/Starshield that would mean the other half could be refueling flight for Mars/ Moon that would be 50~70 starships going interplanetary.
~60 Starships worth of Payload to the Red Planet or the Moon base. Insane.
