The truth about web3 jobs. A reality check

I started working full-time in Web3 in January 2022 because the marketing agency I hired to help me launch a project offered me a job.

I had no clue what to expect. But now I feel like I've been here for ages and these are some of my learnings.

1) Nobody has any clue about what they're doing, everyone's learning.

2) Any consumer-facing role requires people familiar with the Web3 culture.

3) Traditional marketing strategies are usually irrelevant here.

4) There are 2 types of jobs here: the fuck around & find out one [Director of vibes] and the real ones [Operations & Tech]

5) Nobody's gonna hold your hand and if you don't take the lead and be proactive you're gonna be laid off.

6) The expectations for payment are unrealistic. Not every Web3 venture is Yuga.

7) You can learn most things here if you have a real passion for what you're doing and you don't wanna get rich quick.

8) You don't need to have 100k followers on X to get a real web3 job.

P.S. - This is a photo of me from when I turned web3 full time. You can see I still carried the backpack with some weed cause the money wasn't that good.
