Ms Rachel shared the drawing of a 6-year-old from Gaza: “Everyone in Maha’s picture of her family was killed but her.”
Israel killed her entire family.
I’m sorry, but I need to say this.
It’s deeply upsetting that so few people are talking about the Palestinian detainees who are occasionally released by Israel. This is a photo of one of them, released just five days ago after being held for months.
These individuals have endured unimaginable conditions. Many lost family members while detained. Some only learned upon their release that their loved ones had been killed.
Why aren’t their stories followed closely? Why aren’t their names, faces, and voices being shared?
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with amplifying the abduction and release of activists, whether they’re detained for hours or days. But why does that same energy vanish when it comes to Palestinians?
We know the answer. Their arrests, abuse, and even deaths have been normalized to the point of invisibility. Even when we do share their stories, they barely gain traction.
It’s heartbreaking and frustrating to see so many, including large accounts that built followings through Gaza advocacy, remain silent on this. You’re missing the point.
They wanted to break her will so that she would speak about what she suffered and became the story herself, losing credibility in the eyes of the victims .Yet she emerged with greater awareness, commitment and determination .
I don’t care if they’re US citizens or not, nobody should be dragged out of bed in the middle of the night and have their things thrown in the hallway by armed thugs as their children scream. That’s evil work and the people who do it are evil.
“They dragged little Greta by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag. They did everything imaginable to her, as a warning to others,”
—A Turkish activist described shocking abuse against climate campaigner Greta Thunberg by Israeli forces
I'm still struggling to wrap my head around the fact that the people of Gaza get shot at for trying to fish in their own waters, which the IOF actually has no legal right to be in. Can we all just seriously take this in
If you are born into a family with financial security I actually think dedicating your life to actively trying to help people is probably the best you could do.
all three countries now recognise palestine while simultaneously arming israel and allowing the genocide against the palestinian people to continue. a pathetic gesture that means nothing without sanctions and ceasing to sell arms to israel.
Demartravion “Trey” Reed was lynched & cops say “no foul play.” A Black man hanging in 2025 isn’t an accident. Days after white men marched to “fight back” for Charlie Kirk, Black folks are hunted again. America is rotting. Don’t let them gaslight us.
I can't stop thinking about 1 sentence in today's UN report regarding Israel's genocide in Gaza.
"Israeli security forces shot at & killed civilians, including children who were holding makeshift white flags. Some children, including toddlers, were shot in the head by snipers.”
