Third season in a row we’ve done preseason game highlights and we’ve seen significant growth each year.
I was expecting we’d see 35-40,000 views between the two games, but I have a feeling we’ll be surpassing 40k based on the first game
@GreyCupBound You’d have to look at other platforms and content to get a better idea.
The demographics of highlight packs on YouTube have heavily shifted in the last two years.
It use to skew heavily to younger people watching on their phones. Now it’s heavily 45+ watching on their TV

The most interesting metric is where the views are coming from.
I expected a significant percentage to come from YouTube and external searches, but that amounted to only 9.4%
80.3% came from browse features. Aka subscription feed and home page feed.
How convenient that the UCP ignores the petition to stay in Canada, but pays attention to the separatist petitions AND passes laws that prevent you from removing your name from said separatist petition.
The UCP is doing some absolutely alarming things
Since I have helped set the smsports community ablaze tonight I will add this.
To the department heads who are dealing with exec staffs and ADs who are going to look at Chat 2.0 and start asking questions like how quickly can we downsize, it is your job to advocate for your departments and educate the powers at be on what this actually is, powerful tools that if used properly can help your departments become more efficient.
It is also your job to remind them that AI can’t go sit on a baseline or sideline and capture content or mic up a player. It can’t go to an OV and make a connection with a family or athlete, and cant cover an event. It also can’t understand what a coach means when they say something like “just add that thing you did four graphics ago that I told you I liked.” And I’d love to see how it interprets “it just doesn’t pop enough for me.”
The fact is creatives are just as important to their athletic departments today as they were yesterday and if you oversee a department, like I do, it is your responsibility to everyone who reports to you to make sure that message is heard and understood.
Now we can freely edit like our entire library of footage is local.
The long waits to transfer footage from the server to our stations is eliminated.
Drag and drop whatever into our projects and we can just go.
We made a monumental upgrade to our workflow in the past month.
We were wasting so much time transferring footage over a 1gb connection. We had been looking at upgrading to 10gb, but ran into road blocks with our exiting infrastructure.
Upgrading our networking would have been $80k for a whole new core network switch.
So instead, I worked with our IT Manager to repurpose a server that wasn’t being used and got budget for some 10gb NICs.
