@Kc1Mc @orangefever78 @MartinC23765880@RyanWaltersSupt Oklahoma was ranked 17th in education in 2011 w/a democratic governor. Since then we have slid closer and closer to 50. Walters is waging a culture war that doesn’t exist.

@OKPoliticalMeme Have you even driven on the roller coaster bridge in Tulsa? I think it’s safe, but it doesn’t exactly feel like it is. My kids love it though, lol.
@RyanWaltersSupt Where is the funding for this program coming from? Are the teachers being compensated for the extra work? Are there criteria for which children will get support? Is it only for math and reading - nothing for grammar, science, history? Lots of questions - little information.
@GovStitt@GovStitt Do you have anything to say about @RyanWaltersSupt posting dangerous rhetoric that led to 2 bomb threats at a Tulsa area school. To become a “top 10” state children need to be safe and not afraid to go to school because the sup is trying to score points on nat’l stage.
@ChryslerCares how do you know headrests can spontaneously explode in T&C minivans and not think it’s reason for recall? The side of my face, eye socket and headache from a headrest exploding WHILE PARKED would like an answer. (I was turned to talk to baby in seat behind me)
@RachaelIve27922 @pteridoid @ConservUSA_ @RyanWaltersSupt@libsoftiktok Did you take that picture in a school? What school, right now, has that book on a shelf available to children? Moral outrage about something that isn’t happening is such a waste of time. Be upset about something that’s actually happening, not @RyanWaltersSupt made up fairytales.
@RyanWaltersSupt So teaching the kids of Oklahoma to read and be kind is not part of your “agenda”? I think you may need to rethink why you are in office, who you are suppose to be serving in office and maybe do a little more due diligence before reposting something from social media. Do better.
@auny_marie@StaceMBates@anonymouse728@GovStitt 1. Oklahoma as a whole didn’t decide. It wasn’t put to a vote, we had trigger laws. 2. NOT ALL SEX IS CONSENSUAL. Women get pregnant every day because of violent horrible acts and in Oklahoma they have NO CHOICE but to carry that fetus.
@RonFilipkowski OK already has a state law requiring a moment of silence at the beginning of every school day. This is being used to distract the public from a State superintendent that is failing at his job, but the religious will praise him for accomplishing something that is already law.
@andyhartzler@kendallybrown As the mom of two gay teens in Oklahoma this hurts my heart. I know so many kids that have been treated like this by their families. We have close family that treat our kids like this - of course, they arent part of our lives anymore. Parental love should be unconditional.
@DebraDa13308871 @imadogluver @CalltoActivism Have you read the entire filing? The part where he hired her while she was in the midst of a DV situation and then used that against her? You don’t know what you would do, unless you are in that specific situation. No one does. A little empathy is a good thing.
@soonerman_mike1 @MayorMayknot @CNN In small, rural Oklahoma towns where that is their only option? Yes, they do. It’s a program called PBS Warn. If the state isn’t willing to upgrade infrastructure on weather warning systems in rural communities - it needs to continue support of what’s already in place.
@RyanWaltersSupt Weren’t you on the committee that set the state standards for history? Why would the state be so off track less than 4 years later (while under republican control)? Do you have anything that backs up the statistics you’re spouting?
@ReneeH32054503 @RyanWaltersSupt As a parent of children in BAPS, this is not happening. 1. You couldn’t have picked a more conservative, anti-lgbtqia+ city to make your point 2. A middle school in BA gave my daughter detention for hugging a female friend because it was PDA - def. not changing names/pronouns
@reality_diva@CindyNguyenOK There are people that don’t have access to those things and rely on school and public libraries for their books and information.
@mcafee2012 Do Oklahoma Public Libraries fall under the purview of the department of education? As written this is absolutely a book ban and is a way for Oklahoma to try and push our state further into the past.
