“I also cooked,” Len starts in an attempt to steer their mind off from charting a course on potential panic. “We should eat together. Here or there, it’s up to you.”
Aster amidst their stretches in the effort of waking themselves responds. “What’d you make?”
“Your favorite.”
Len’s head shot around. “Don’t patronize me.” Their tone is harsher, and their mental word-sieve’s holes are growing larger, incapable of filtering the better words from the worst ones. Exactly how Aster wanted it to.
“That ain’t even safe! You can’t eat laying down!”
“I’m gonna be fine, alright? You’ll give me CPR if you need to, right?”
“I-” Len chokes on the air. “What the hell is wrong with you! W-Why would you say that? You’re… You’re sick! You’re insane!”
Aster: I gotta buy you a muzzle or some shit?
Zile: You buyin’ me gifts now!? Had no clue you and I were at that stage in our relationship!
Len: Hey, they ain’t yours.
Zile: And they’re yours?
Len: And so what if they were?
Aster: I don’t know how the hell you’re already so good yet you keep gettin’ better.
Len: Hey, youre just as good.
Aster: Obviously… but you’re on my level which is a feat in itself.
Without hesitation, they join Len on their bed by sitting on their left. Aster throws their arm around them and pulls them closer, as if that’s even possible.
Len: You either comin’ with me, or I’m gonna get him myself. Tomorrow. Choose your own fate, go.
Aster: ...My fate is wherever you go.
Len: ...That’s what I like to hear. Now get up here and practice with me.
“I think I want to.” Aster starts, staring at the wall Len’s dresser rests against. “But I don’t think I know how to just yet.”
“And that’s okay. I’m not here to rush you, I’m just here to love you.”
Aster: Woah!
Len: Don’t fuckin’ swing at them, asshat!
Zile: Ohoho, there’s two! I thought you were just our little calm, composed one. I got two freaks, huh? Just like me!
Aster: They ain’t even a bit like you!
