first things first. only one of swords eyes are shown. This falls into one or two of two things. True Eye Reference + Broken Armor. The red stuff on his hat is tattered and looks ruined.

what makes me sad about true sword is the fact that she doesn’t have her cape anymore. not a carefree thing that flows in the wind but the weight of many swords behind her back

he has need of survival . sword , who had a tame life and is thrown into cruelty, and boombox was raised from cruelty and thrown into a peaceful to him world with some cruelty he sees as normal. He was thrown off a cliff and had to watch that happen way too much in his life.

If the eye represents the truama, it could mean that despite this armor protecting him, he could still see through. If we follow a true eye allegory, it could be finding out about medkit and the true eye, and the damage it caused him.
