After Cambodian authorities found Aishah in Cambodia, the Phnom Penh police chief posted a video of her clarification in which she stated her reason for coming to Cambodia, following reports of her being missing: she said that because her living condition in Singapore was stressful, she decided to live on her own in Cambodia to work as an English teacher, adding that it was entirely her choice and she was not forced to come or scammed into coming here, and she has not been involved in or forced to participate in any scam activities or criminal activities.
Mr. Thomas Andrews, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in #Cambodia, stated that he personally witnessed the road closures, the placement of shipping containers, and the installation of barbed wire. He also listened to the accounts of Cambodian civilians who have been unable to return to their homes because the #Thai #military destroyed their villages. He said their stories reflected the profound suffering they have endured. Mr. Andrews added that he would continue to monitor the situation very closely.
These remarks were made by Mr. Thomas Andrews in response to questions from journalists during a press conference held on 31 July 2026.
As a Cambodian, I believe that the destruction of cultural heritage is not merely a loss to one nation — it is a loss to all humanity. Ancient temples are more than stone structures. They are living records of human civilisation, symbols of identity and priceless treasures that connect past, present and future generations.

Thailand criticised for Undermining UN Special Rapporteur Instead of addressing Humanitarian Crisis
In his recent statement, Andrews urged Cambodia and Thailand to work together to ensure the safe and swift return of thousands of civilians displaced by the border conflict, saying international law guarantees their right to return home.
Responding to the statement, a senior Cambodian official said Cambodia was “seriously concerned” by Thailand’s attempt to undermine the independence and credibility of the UN Special Rapporteur.

The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts wishes to inform the national and international public of the damage sustained by the Sacred Site of the Temple of Preah Vihear and its surrounding areas as a result of artillery attacks carried out by the Thai military during the periods of 24–28 July 2025 and 7–27 December 2025. #Cambodia #TruthfromCambodia
@SurajKrBauddh Tourists should be welcomed and given a sense of security by the host country. Such immoral acts should not be committed against tourists.
Reportedly, Thai soldiers took a Cambodian family’s motorbike from their home after the family fled during the latest fighting. This is looting. It is undignified. Sad, and telling.
Cambodian local media and government officials reported that Thai soldiers looted Cambodian soldiers’ motorbikes and civilians’ belongings during last month’s border clashes.
The Thai military not only illegally occupied Cambodian territory and destroyed Cambodian civilians' homes after the ceasefire, but also stole the Cambodian people's property.

@KhmerPost24 This action shows the invasion and destruction of Cambodia by the Thai military What connection do the Hindu statues and ancient temples dedicated to gods of various Hindu sects and other ancient sites that Thailand destroyed have with the armed?
This action demonstrates the invasion and destruction of Cambodia by the Thai military. What is the connection between the Hindu statues and ancient temples dedicated to various Hindu deities that the Thais destroyed and the armed conflict?
This is Thailand’s response to the world after destroying the statue of Lord Vishnu.
The statue is located far from the border, which clearly proves that Thailand truly invaded Cambodian territory.
Those who show no respect for religion will face destruction sooner or later.

As the destruction of a Hindu statue hit the headlines, officials and monks alike have condemned indiscriminate attacks by the Thai military, no matter whether Buddhist or Hindu worship sites are struck.

Thailand’s current dynasty is the Chakri Dynasty—named after Chakra, the weapon of Vishnu.
Each king is revered as Rama, Vishnu’s incarnation.
Yet Thai politicians and soldiers destroy Vishnu statues on Cambodian territory, while praying for the Thai royal family’s blessings.
@HinduHate It's ridiculous when you say that Cambodia violated Thailand's sovereignty. Then you should have some evidence to prove it and show the international community that Thailand's legitimacy is clear.
