Got to wrap up the last day of #UFMGSSBS2022 with a lecture from Professor Bruno Reis about Brazilian Politics. It was extremely interesting learning about Brazil’s multi-party system and how it significantly contrasts with the US’s 2 party system. Muito obrigada ❤️

Had the opportunity to learn about Brazilian Foreign Affairs through an insightful lecture by Professor Lucas Lima. I enjoyed discussing concepts including human rights and gender equality. Loved testing my Brazilian knowledge with the T/F questions at the end. #UFMGSSBS2022

For day 8 of #UFMGSSBS2022, Professor Débora Cardoso Freire gave a wonderful lecture on Brazil’s Economy. It was insightful seeing how events such as COVID can have a huge impact on the economy.

Day 7 of #UFMGSSBS2022 was packed full of amazing events starting off with a lecture from Professor Corinne Rodriguez about Brazilian society that covered topics such as recent migration patterns and ethnic composition. Also had a chance to go on an amazing tour with Inhotim.

I got to kick off the 2nd week of #UFMGSSBS2022 with an in-depth look into Brazilian Law with Professor Juliana Gomes. I had a wonderful time learning about the transformations the Brazilian constitution underwent and the influences that several countries had.

Professor Heloísa Feichas did an amazing job wrapping up the week with her lecture on Brasil’s culture including it’s art, music, and literature. l especially loved hearing all of the beautiful music that was presented. #UFMGSSBS2022

Day 4 of #UFMGSSBS2022 was just as amazing with an insightful lecture from Professor Cristiano Rodrigues as he delved into the complexities of race in Brazil.

Another enlightening lecture from #UFMGSSBS2022! For day 3, I had the opportunity to learn about the processes that led to the formation of Brazil’s beautiful landscape from Dr. Tiago Novo’s presentation on Brazilian Geology.

What an amazing way to kick off #UFMGSSBS2022! Had the opportunity to attend Dr. Jerry Dávila’s enlightening presentation on the challenges Brazil has faced in its transition to democracy including the heavy influence of the military.
I look forward in continuing my studies!
