@Prestigour He hung up before Simon could even utter a protest, tossed the phone onto his lap, and took one last lingering drag of his cigarette.

“I’ll be staying here for a month. Taking a break,” Lennon continued, “so do you take my offer or not, @Prestigour? Beach club wouldn’t wait for you for long, you know.”

He flicked the ash off the tip, watching it drop onto the tray on the round table. On the other end of the line, Simon muttered some feeble excuse, probably still fiddling with paperwork or pretending to look busy.

@lenndrew "Stop being such a cocky bastard," Simon grumbled, already regretting picking up the call. His cousin had a real talent for getting on his nerves.

Still, the offer was tempting. His attending had been on his ass all week, and his hopeless crush wasn't making things any easier.

“Ditch the bloody stethoscope and get over here instead, will you? I’ll sort your ticket out.”

@Prestigour “Flattery will get you nowhere. I can hardly spare a thought for you.” Lennon dragged on his cigarette, the tip glowing red for a fleeting moment before he exhaled a slow, lazy plume of smoke.
