@drewlevin@Azzapp_LoL I know that in my case, I always make a point to look for sources and read those whenever I use AI. I tend to use it as a glorified search engine to find human-created sources of information. But I know not everyone does this unfortunately.
@drewlevin I just watched your interview with @Azzapp_LoL and I really enjoyed it. I had a question regarding a response to one of Azzapp's questions if you're willing to answer. When Azzapp asked you about the use of AI in a creative endeavor you chose to not respond to the-
@drewlevin@Azzapp_LoL Thank you for your response! I have to say, this is not an angle I've heard anyone take on this topic so I appreciate the insight!
I agree that there is certainly a risk of detaching the human element of knowledge transfer and that could take away something quintessential. --
@drewlevin@Azzapp_LoL I ask, because my intuition is that there is little difference between using AI to help you write code and copy/pasta code from stack overflow which was a common thing people did before AI was a thing. Casey Muratori also took issue with AI's invasion of StackOverflow.
@fineokay_ I think there is a place for both kinds of MOBAs: ones with jungle role and ones without it.
Neither are "bad" game design, just game design choices with their own challenges. Let's not pretend that one side is objectively better than the other
@ZeriThePlatypus@drewlevin@RiotPhroxzon I guess to be fair to your point, it's somewhere over 30%. Which is pretty close. But marksmen still dominate the botlane nevertheless.
@ZeriThePlatypus@drewlevin@RiotPhroxzon This is statistically false. Marksmen are still the priority pick in bot lane. Mages bot is not as common as you think. This is true both in solo queue and in professional play. (During MSI, mages in bot lane were picked aboug 20% of the time)
@ZeriThePlatypus@drewlevin@RiotPhroxzon Because you continue to talk about 1v1 scenarios. Put a highly itemized marksmen with their teammates against enemy team and they are in heaven.
Marksmen are meant to be squishy. You are supposed to space well, because you do so much damage
@ZeriThePlatypus@drewlevin@RiotPhroxzon And hell no, marksmen should not be able to just itemize to counter assassin who were literally made to counter the marksmen. That is inherently unbalanced.
@ZeriThePlatypus@drewlevin@RiotPhroxzon Marksmen were designed to be the late game insurance for the team. They counter champions with no range that are easily kited, but that doesn't mean they should be able to 1v1 them.
Marksmen shine when they are supported by teammates who peel for them so that they can deal dmg.
@KatTheThird I'm not against ranked mode either, but I think the fact that it's been requested so much so early is indicative of where people's heads are at.
I am lucky so far that I haven't had anyone get tilted over the game.
@ZeriThePlatypus@drewlevin@RiotPhroxzon Yeah....so he built to counter you back. Good for him. Marksman aren't supposed to 1v1 champions; that was never part of their identity. You should play to your champion's strengths instead of shoehorning them into a playstyle that doesn't work, and then complaining about it.
@Malefic111@KatTheThird You're grossly conflating trying to win with tryharding games. You can absolutely play with the intention of winning without playing an optimal strategy when just playing for fun. League Classic is meant to be a blast from the past, not a new esport to be taken seriously.
