honestly, it’s great to see the sector leader showing such strong & continuously growing metrics.
as a TCG founder, i bet on 3 things:
- onchain TCGs will grow, not just as an onchain asset class, but as an onchain economy.
- just like any growing economy, we'll see liquidity rails expand across the space. now demand for these rails remains underserved in onchain TCG as current volume is almost entirely centered around centralized gachas.
- there's room for many more TCG builders to join the sector and build. building on Solana is best because there's no better place to build consumer apps than Solana.
that’s why i’m building @byedotfun to add value and grow this expanding pie, not to compete with other founders.
Gachapon inventory on @Collector_Crypt has grown significantly, nearly tripling from ~$8.7m at end of May to ~$24.8m currently.
Pokemon remains the largest category, accounting for ~43% of inventory at ~$11m. Notably, One Piece has rapidly closed the gap with inventory growing to ~$8.8m (37% of total). Sports remains the third largest category at ~$2.5m.
These figures are already net of outflows highlighting the depth of CC's Gachapon inventory, which has been battle tested through periods of elevated demand and maintained 100% machine uptime since the Sept 25 period, when the machine struggled to handle increase in demand due to inventory constraints.
great breakdown ser. really highlights how deep the biggest liquidity rail in our onchain TCG sector (Collector Crypt gacha) is.
we're all seeing a booming economy i think. would love to see a follow-up on the macro metrics of onchain TCG economy, which will be the best to onboard non believers imo.
- TCV (Total Tokenized Collectible Value) across all platforms not just Collector Crypt
- onchain transfer count and volume of TCGs over time
assets and velocity always show the full picture of a new economy being formed.
@Slabzapp the progression on this Legendary Collection Gyarados is wild haha
listed as chase card at $120K earlier this summer, now exploding past $141K live on eBay
My own collection, scanned at @byedotfun
🌈 Rainbow badge earned.
79 slabs, all eligible, all idle.
$2,234 insured → ~$11,467 in fees they could earn in a year.
Magikarp, Typhlosion, Greninja leading the flex so i picked them.
buy it, bye it!
buy it, bye it!
TCG's onchain. The rail to do something with it isn't yet. Today a door cracks open, not all of it, just enough to touch.
Paste your wallet → see what your idle TCG cards could earn.
Season 0 starts now → pre-register, grab your referral link, invite friends, earn points (powered by $BYE).
bye(dot)fun
Doors opening soon.
The rail's been quiet but something's coming. We're building the thing your idle TCGs have been missing.
buy it, bye it. byedotfun - almost boarding.
@jupiter_trade actually nostalgia is the ultimate driver in this market
reminding people of that very first card they pulled as a kid is what keeps the passion alive !
old money they said, we say FOCK IT...
Japanese Pokemon pack ripping on the @MadLads #9968 background 😆
i used to hold this Lassie and even had the artwork printed out as a painting
also forgot about these Mega Symphonia packs for a while, but finally ripped one. total 5 cards opened but i found only 1 shiny Mega Latias EX
feels like it's time to bring the Mad Lads culture back lol
my next plan with these cards: get it graded, send it into the @Collector_Crypt's vault and deposit it on @byedotfun turning a physical pull into an onchain card
and maybe do a giveaway after 👀
