Today, GoNigeria releases a statement calling on every eligible Nigerian, particularly the millions of young people who have turned 18 since the last general election, to register to vote before the 24 July 2026 deadline.
Over the past few weeks, GoNigeria has been actively engaging young Nigerians through sustained on-the-ground outreach and across a range of media and digital platforms to make voter registration information more accessible. This work will continue in the days ahead.
While voter registration is the immediate priority, it is only one part of GoNigeria's broader mission, anchored by our four foundational pillars: electoral reform, the protection of freedom of speech, judicial reform, and the security of life and property.
I encourage you to read the full statement. If you are eligible to vote, please register before the deadline. If you know someone who is eligible but has not yet registered, encourage them to do the same.

After a long day of traveling across three states yesterday, we finally landed at our last destination and began the drive back.
Somewhere along the way, Peter Obi pulled out his phone, opened YouTube, and started watching one of @mrmacaroni’s skits.
As exhausted as we all were, he held his phone where everyone could see, and we ended up watching together. He laughed heartily, and it made me pause for a moment.
This, I realized, is how he unwinds. He finds joy in simple moments and makes the most of them.
Then another thought struck me: a man who genuinely spends his free time watching a content creator’s work is someone who recognizes the value of that industry.
Today, content creation has grown into one of the world’s biggest creative industries, with young Nigerians driving much of its success. Yet many creators are struggling because the cost of cameras, lenses, lighting, and other equipment has soared as the naira continues to lose value against the dollar.
As a photographer, this is one of the reasons I support a Peter Obi presidency. I believe his understanding of the economy, combined with a competent team, would focus on restoring economic stability and strengthening the naira, making professional equipment more affordable for creators.
Beyond that, I believe he would engage with stakeholders in the creative industry and recognize it as a serious contributor to economic growth and youth employment.
And perhaps most importantly, creators would know they have someone who genuinely enjoys and consumes their work. After all, what is content without an audience?

Repost this so that others can benefit from it.
Vanguard of February 12, 2012 had this to say about His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi:
“Even as noble as the intents were, the Governor’s critics scoffed at the thought he could effect progress in all sectors simultaneously in Anambra State – a State without oil resources; a State literally under the steel grips of brigands who had held the apparatuses of governance hostage.
Many of his admirers also wondered if he was not going too far in blending dreams with reality. But most people did not take Almighty God into consideration; that He selects leaders and empowers those who revere Him to make positive impact on their societies.”
Those are not my words.
Peter Obi is, in my opinion, the kind of leader built for difficult times like the one Nigeria is currently facing. He has shown the ability to navigate challenges when many leaders would either buckle under pressure or simply lack the mental capacity to move the country forward.
If you have other personal reasons for not voting for Peter Obi, that's your choice.
But it obviously cannot be because of capacity, competence or integrity.
I know a number of people who didn’t marry their “spec” but are in the healthiest marriages I know. Their spec was typically whatever was culturally deemed to be at the apex of the attractiveness pyramid when they were growing up. For a lot of guys in my generation, it was the music video “vixens” from the late 90s/early 2000s Hip & R&B music videos with ‘coke bottle figures’ and or light skinned eurocentric features. When it’s time to find a partner for the very serious endeavor of sharing a life with, that “spec” is simply inadequate as a measure of compatibility and that’s understandable. The foolishness though is communicating it as though their partner somehow didn’t measure up to their “spec” instead of simply admitting that the idea of their spec was stupid all along and a young boy’s lack of wisdom of what makes a good life partner.
Communicating publicly or even privately to your partner that they weren’t your spec to begin with may seem harmless, after-all you’re just being honest. But subconsciously, it’s an ego trip for you who “settled” and for your the partner, it’s a chip they will always carry on their shoulder that to you, they aren’t quite enough. They’re missing something you had always longed for, so much so that you still consider it to be your “spec”. It’s an unnecessary mind fuck and a cruel thing to say about somebody who is sharing a life with you. No matter how flowery you are with the compliments that come after. You’ve already knocked them down several pegs.
If the point is to say your spec changed then talk about the stupidity of having a spec to begin with. Because I’ve never heard anyone in these situations talk about character attributes being their spec, it’s always superficial stuff. Or speak about how meeting your partner opened your eyes to what true beauty is. Speak in ways that elevate and affirm your partner.
Everyone I’ve spoken with who is currently serving in government has told me that this Prince Adeniyi case is simply a scam, but when I start asking questions, none of them has been able to answer.
Yes, you can forge an appointment letter and claim that you are a DG but appointment letters are signed by the SGF not the COS. Who allegedly issued his appointment letter or what signature is his allegedly forged appointment letter showing?
Someone higher than a DG must ask that you be allocated office space in the Federal Secretariat. Who made that request?
Someone higher than a DG must write asking that you be given an alleged take-off grant. You cannot yourself write to the Budget Office and the Office of the Accountant General that you should be given a take-off grant. Who allegedly wrote?
How did the agency get into the budget?
Usually, you will go for budget defence as part of a cohort. In this case, it will probably be as part of the State House cohort. Who defended or coordinated the defence of the budget estimates before the National Assembly before they were appropriated?
Did the guy earn a salary in the more than one year he was there? If so, who documented him and asked that he be paid?
With which money was the guy running the office for more than one year if nothing was allegedly released?
Who allegedly wrote to the CBN asking them to open an account for the ‘Council’? The ‘Council’ cannot just walk into CBN and ask to open an account, as if it’s a commercial bank looking for customers.
Who allegedly approved the ‘Council’s’ manning levels and who allegedly approved the waiver to recruit 300 staff?
Was the guy allegedly really that good? Or were there egregious failings at multiple points in the system?
These questions and more are often met with deafening silence. Everyone sighs heavily and uses the ubiquitous expression “Na waa.” Me sef, I sigh heavily and answer “Na real waa!”
This is a case of the proverbial tse tse that has landed on the scrotum. Leave it and it will cause sickness and pain. Swat it and it will cause pain because of its location.
Anyhow you look at it, there are questions begging for answers. And whatever the answers will be, they will not be good.
Still, I hope that there’ll be some answers soon…for the sake of our public administration system.
I am Ezemmuo. I know things.
