I am a Leandro Kid...
The North Carolina Supreme Court's reversal on the Leandro Case is an utter moral failure. This country has the audacity to fund an unclear, unnecessary, $2 Billion/Day war, yet still somehow, keep its conscious in tact with failing our children, right here at home. Our values in this state and country have never been more clear and pronounced.
After more than a year of productive relationship building, I'm proud of the progress we've achieved with @DukeU, @DukeHealth and @CityofDurhamNC! The Duke University's #HomeGrown Initiative is a direct response to our renewed partnership and investments for Durham, Duke, and the Greater Triangle! @mayorofbullcity
Remember when Google dropped this Black History Month commercial in 2020?
That’s what honoring Black history looks like, telling the truth loudly, not sanitizing it when it makes people uncomfortable.
Happy Black History Month.
Short notice but worth an early start! Catch me on Morning Joe in the morning on MS NOW, formerly #MSNBC as I speak on the amazing things happening in the City of Durham, NC and how we stand together strong as a community through turbulent times!
MAYOR LEO WILLIAMS SECURES A DECISIVE VICTORY IN DURHAM'S MAYORAL PRIMARY
"Tonight, Durham, we took an incredible first step together. I'm so grateful for the trust and support you've shown me, and I'm humbled by the momentum we're building. But this is just the beginning - the real work lies ahead in November. Together, let's finish this race strong and continue building a Durham where everyone can thrive."
They’re angry because even with all that political power they’re still completely mediocre and inept‼️ They’ve done all those things and nothing in their lives improved or changed‼️ Instead of accepting responsibility for where they’re at, they blame everyone else‼️
We’re proud to announce 38 newly-endorsed candidates across 14 states with elections this fall! Whether it’s for school board, town council, mayor, or another local office, Democrats are stepping up to improve their communities!
I’ve officially filed for reelection as your Mayor.

Monday, I didn’t go to the Board of Elections as I aimed to do. I instead spent my time with our neighbors and community members affected by the flooding this week. One thing is clear, from corner to corner, street to street, I see the incredible things happening in our city every single day. This week, we told a story of resilience, kindness, and strength.
Durham has a story to tell, but for too long, others have tried to tell our story for us.
If you care about this city, if you want to make it better, you will be embraced. We still have much ahead of us and issues we must face together. There’s so much Durham can do.
When I ran for mayor, I did it with Durham’s 100-year legacy in mind. A century ago, we were called the Black Wall Street of the South. That wasn’t just an economic engine, it was a cultural movement, an educational force. As an educator myself, I see how those founders built schools, businesses, and hubs to empower the next generation. That’s why I say: looking back is our way forward.
Durham then and now belongs to all of us, and I’m inviting every resident to see themselves in Durham’s story and to help write the next chapter.
I am humbly asking for your support, Durham.
Let’s continue to write this story together.
