A home inspector has walked through over 5,000 houses in 14 years.

He can stand in a driveway, look at a house for ten seconds, and already have a shortlist of what's probably wrong with it — before he's touched the front door.

A friend of his had already gone through a standard inspection on a house she was buying. Passed. Clean report. She was days from closing when she mentioned it to him at dinner, mostly in passing.

He asked to see the report and asked if he could walk through with her before closing, just to look.
