Zcash (ZEC) hides the sender, recipient, and amount, while Bitcoin transactions are public.
It uses zk-SNARKs to verify transactions without revealing details.
Shielded Zcash transactions are virtually impossible to trace, while Bitcoin transactions can be tracked.

5 reason why Zcash has a real chance against Bitcoin as a SoV:
1. It's actually private.
2. It will be quantum recoverable soon.
3. It will scale (Tachyon).
4. It's Lindy.
5. Zcashers are insane.
@robprogressive Your money helps the politicians to become multi millionaires because obviously they can't with 120-200K pre taxed income be multi millionaires, they have to take it from you.
in 2010, someone asked a question that Bitcoin couldn't answer.
the search for the answer would help inspire one of the most important breakthroughs in modern cryptography.

.@mert on the privacy comeback:
"Privacy was literally deemed dead in crypto. It wasn't mentioned anywhere. Now, privacy protocols across every ecosystem are getting funded. Privacy gives you more freedom, more choice, instead of being surveilled forever."
Zcash started this.
There are several hints here that Chamath might be considering Zcash.
But he also says that all the existing projects are "very small scale and there [are] huge issues with them."
I am interested in what he means.
It's not clear if the "huge issues" are with the projects or with potential central bank adoption. I do agree most cryptos are too early for central banks to care.
