@jOnline_NG Yes. Anyone can have an idea. But the whole point of art is finding a way to communicate that idea to another person.
You can entertain yourself all you like by just imagining fun stuff in your head, but then it will die with you (or when you forget it) and that's sad.
@alcatrazosis Yeah but you still have to make something. Or, actually, you don't; I've got lots of ideas that I didn't spend time to actually make.
And as a result, I eventually forget my good ideas and lose them, and they will die with me. That's sad! You should make something.
@zguy09876 Yes, obviously, this is projection; this is about me.
It's a self-critical piece of vent art meant to encourage others (but mostly myself) to actually create things.
You (I) should be uncomfortable if you are letting your good ideas die on the vine.
@AMariusJ yeah but the problem is that I am both the carefree dreamer and the angry block text in this image. This is a self-critique.
If you are confident in your art, and if you consider it a gift to give, it seems selfish to let it die with you because you never made it.
Yeah that's the problem lmao
The point is this is a self critique, and encouragement to not think like this, to not be satisfied daydreaming about a project, and to actually put in the work to make something worthwhile.
@Saltine461881@aryuter89i@marsyparty@404Piano I have heard of a "pregnant pause" though, which refers to an extended uncomfortable silence, usually after bad news or an awkward situation.
Perhaps an unpopular opinion: if you are the person who always reaches out and arranges activities, you might be the glue holding your friend group together, and that's not a bad thing.
@BenjiGameDev But also, like... The end result and the execution matter a little, right? I think if you are creatively constipated, this is great advice, but if you've got a really great idea, it feels like a waste to tarnish it and give people a bad version of it. Like it ruins it.
@Anima_LeaR@BenjiGameDev Counterpoint: if I don't actually take my good ideas and write them down, and make something with it, eventually I will forget them and then even I won't be able to enjoy it anymore.
It's important to make things for that reason, even if you never post it.
@yarrowsergal@404Piano counterpoint: sometimes I have a good idea, but I don't act fast enough to really put something to the page, so even I forget it and can't enjoy it anymore.
