So last week I managed to convince a couple of the gang at @uk_ie that I had a twin bring me a drink during a hangout session on MS Teams 😂😂 #doppelganger#twinning
#TheBoys : The sudden "I can erase superpowers" thing was bad enough (Why didn't Soldier Boy do it himself, again? Even he could see Homelander was nuts), but the "It's Butcher and his team; we're ready for them"?
Bullets. You have Butcher, Starlight and Kimiko caught in a kill-box (one they walked right into, eyes open, with no contingency plan, by the way) and your grand trap is...a guy with a machine gun. Against supes.
Not flooding the room with gas, or pouring hot lava on them; not having a pack of psychics on the other side of the door to flood them all with delusions or send them into comas...nope. Bullets. Emblematic of so much of the past three seasons; incomprehensible narrative stalling tactics.
This show had about 3 seasons worth of functional story that they bent and stretched into 5 seasons of persistent 'kick the can down the road', all for ending ONE character; the death of whom, alone, would not solve the problem in the setting. Because Butcher was right; and the introduction every season of another crop of immoral and evil supes just proves it.
By the end of the series, nothing has really changed, and unless the remaining characters are suddenly not themselves anymore, the "peace" we see for each of them - in the world presented us - would last all of 10 minutes before they were all drawn back together again.

💸🧑🎓 England’s student loans were sold as “the best debt you’ll ever have”.
Now they’re acting like a stealth tax, pushing marginal rates above 70% and holding back growth.
