Food price inflation has been double digit in hospitality for over a year - 24% in Feb & fuelled by energy costs across supply chain. @dsmitheconomics is right - unless food-price inflation is tamed, claimed to have beaten inflation will ring hollow: https://t.co/GYrwiavZje
Half of hospitality businesses are locked into contracts taken out at rhe peak of the market July-Dec last year and face a doubling of bills as support ends https://t.co/NFjF8Gpdo9

Every other country in Europe has a reduced rate of VAT for hospitality. UK maintains the standard rate of 20% VAT. Hospitality businesses are facing an “extinction event” of 300-400% energy price increases. A reduction in VAT to a maximum of 12.5% must happen. #hospitality
Really enjoyed today's @migrationpolic1 panel featuring @SarahKyambi@BoswellPol@leondthompson and @nfus_chiefexec discussing the many and varied implications of the new UK migration policy for the Scottish economy and business.
So, today 1st call about cancelling dinner due to train times....if you can't go for dinner in your capital city because you can't get home, something is wrong @ScotGovFM . Also with an industry staff crisis, not being able to travel to/from work in the city does not help!
