Yes, I get it, you all hate Tony Blair etc you’ll find loads to disagree with here I’m sure - but the quality of analysis of our problems and what any potential leader ought to be thinking about if they want to solve them puts this essay light years ahead of what any current contender for national leadership has offered. Anyone who wants to be an effective prime minister (including the current one) should read it
The idea we get energy independence by not having our own oil and gas is so utterly and monumentally stupid. Sums up everything wrong with our current government - regardless of who gets to be caked PM.
Nothing new in that. Arrogance and stubbornness have surely been part of his problem from day one.
What we haven't had, and still don't have, is empathy, understanding, and a sense of political direction - that is, leadership. That's why he's such a terrible PM.
Joylessness is a defining characteristic of government at all levels in Wales.
Also, so telling that the council present a decision that they've taken as somehow being out of their hands.
This Chuckle Brothers skit is absolutely brilliant. So clever! 😂
Paul Watt and Barry Hoo had me in stitches. The brothers were incredibly talented and funny, masters of timing, slapstick and perfect wordplay that never got old.
This classic clip is well worth a few minutes of your time. It really is great!
@SimonMagus@MePeterNicholls@AndyBissitt NY council far too big & under funded to sort anything, & I’ve tried! I’d much rather have a fully functioning network than right to roam, but needs legislation simplifying & resource for councils to sort. Outside “popular” rural areas you simply can’t trust the OS map.
@SimonMagus@MePeterNicholls@AndyBissitt You are probably OK in Cullingworth Simon. I used to live in Menston & no issues round there at all. Now in S Milford, I’d say 40% are blocked and a further 20-30% have issues. Lack of use doesn’t help but a vicious circle & landowners round here do very little in my experience
The thing that gets me about that Palios interview, among many, is this year was some anomaly or just bad luck. 6 straight years of lower finishes, two straight relegation battles. That's not luck, it's a pattern #trfc#swa
Just absolute relief. It's not a celebration, Tranmere should never ever be in this position. The most draining season I've experienced, Palios has to go, Wild has to go, so do most of the players #trfc#swa
Sums the season up. More mad decision making. No recognised striker, no full subs bench, 5 at the back when we need to win. Hello Worthing, see you soon. #trfc#swa
Tunnock's is pretty much the only brand I can think of that hasn't engaged in enshittifaction. No change to recipe, shrinkflation, rebranding, change in packaging. I hope they're still going when all their competitors are fucked.
@FootballCliches@CDEccleshare@D_C_W Millwall’s equaliser hit the back of the net at exactly 90 minutes. Feel there should be a “Cometh the hour” term for this. All my suggestions are crap, however.
Be wrong to pin relegation on any one event, we are that bad. But won’t ever forget Finley’s idiotic, brain dead red card at Newport, without which we may well be safe now. Another great decision by the club on him, from start to finish. #trfc#swa
