Quanta cor, ritmo e tradição no Moxico-Leste Viva a nossa identidade

Sinto-me impotente e furioso. #Soberania#PazParaOContinente#Vergonha
Today, 21 July 2026, we attended the opening ceremony of the ICAO Global Aviation Gender Summit 2026, held here in Luanda at the Talatona Convention Hotel under the theme “Advancing Aviation Through the Empowerment of Women.”
This is a landmark global gathering. Convened by ICAO in partnership with UN Women and IATA, and hosted by Angola's National Civil Aviation Authority, the Summit runs from 21 to 23 July and builds on the momentum of the 2018 and 2023 gatherings to move from declarations to measurable action on women's empowerment in aviation. The opening ceremony was graced by the Minister of Transport, His Excellency Ricardo Viegas d'Abreu, the Chairwoman of Angola's National Civil Aviation Authority, Ms. Amélia Domingues Kuvíngua, and the Secretary General of ICAO, Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar.
What made today especially meaningful for me as Zambia's Ambassador was the sight of a remarkable delegation of Zambian women from our Civil Aviation Authority in attendance. To see so many of our women represented at a summit of this global stature filled me with pride. These are the professionals who are shaping the future of Zambian aviation, and their presence here speaks to the progress our country is making in opening the skies of opportunity to women.
Aviation connects our countries, our economies, and our people. But it can only reach its full potential when it draws on the full range of talent available to it, and that means the meaningful participation and leadership of women at every level.
Zambia is proud to stand with Angola, with ICAO, and with the global aviation community in this important cause.
To our Zambian women in aviation, you make us proud. Keep flying higher.
The work continues.
