The roll-out of lenacapavir, the highly effective long-acting HIV prevention drug COULD be a game-changer!
Priveleged to be quoted in the @bmj_latest. "It has moved much faster than other forms of PrEP & other drugs, and that’s been really positive," says Leora Pillay.
I was part of the @frontlineaids team with @clare2291 that developed the 2025 reports showing the impact of the #HIV funding cuts in Africa & the true impact on communities, as well as country-specific recommendations to #endAIDS. Read them here: https://t.co/DzVUYBSwD0
1 DAY TO GO!
Tomorrow, the world unites for the @GlobalFund Eighth Replenishment Summit – a pivotal moment to fight the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, reinforce health and community systems and save millions more lives.
Together, we will #StopAtNothing to defeat AIDS, TB and malaria.
See how Sibu is calling on the world to renew their commitment to #DefeatAIDS: https://t.co/H8Hp5bHqEs
Game-changing new drugs mean we can now end AIDS by 2030 if we choose to. @YinkaIlori_’s artwork is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when we choose hope.
@10downingstreet & @yvettecoopermp please maintain a pledge of £1 billion to the @globalfund & choose to #EndAIDS!
Started the #WorldHealthSummit in the esteemed company of @Dr_JeanKaseya from @AfricaCDC to discuss concrete actions that can be taken to eliminate mother2child transmission of #HIV, hepatitis B, or syphilis in Africa with strong African leadership, solutions & financing!
At the #WorldHealthSummit, I joined partners and civil society leaders to call for an Africa where no child is born with HIV, hepatitis B, or syphilis.
Africa has the tools and leadership to end these infections. Through the African Elimination for Vertical Transmission Initiative, @AfricaCDC is working with @_AfricanUnion Member States to strengthen primary health care, laboratories, and community partnerships to make this goal a reality.
Together, we can give every child a healthy start in life.

Privileged to represent @frontlineaids at the @WorldHealthSmt starting at a VIP breakfast addressing the role that civil society can play in the elimination of the vertical transmission of #HIV#HBV and syphllis in Africa through #integration
We are excited to welcome our newest FGS Integration Group (FIG) member, @SpeakUpAfrica1 🎉
Based in #Senegal, @SpeakUpAfrica1 is a leading advocacy and communications organisation driving progress in public health and sustainable development across Africa.
What a privilege to speak @ the #IAS2025 on ensuring that communities & civil society are included in transition & sustainability discussions if we want to build a resilient national health system. Community-led #HIV prevention needs to remain a core priority & be funded.
The @EVA_Nigeria exhibit showed how young people are born into a world of opportunity & technology, but are denied access to #HIV self tests or long acting PrEP due to the age of consent & legal restrictions. Young people should have the right to decide about #HIV prevention
I represented the #FGS integration group at the Seat at the Table exhibition @ #WHA78 & prepared this exhibit to show the devastating impact #FGSchisto has on women & girls, including increasing #HIV risk. #FGSchisto integration with #SRH & #HIV is needed NOW!
@frontlineaids
Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, Minister of Health for South Africa, speaks to how #UHC is a priority for SA as "we can not afford not to make sure we can domestically fund the #HIV response". @GlobalFund investment compliments national work to build a stronger health system #WHA78
This session has shown the determination of African leadership to achieve nationally-led #UHC, mobilise domestic resources for health. We acknowledge the important role of civil society in #HIV prevention & health. We should not forget to keep communities @ the center #WHA78
"We need to be the generation that is committed to ending #HIV for good. This our fight and we cannot stop now". Passionate advocate @sibulele_sibaca speaks at the @GlobalFund event on the sidelines of the #WHA78#endaids
Honoured to represent @frontlineaids at the @GlobalFund event @ the #WHA78 looking at the current context where we need sustained investment & sustained leadership as we journey toward national ownership of health & #UHC and #EndAIDS prevent #HIV
The #WHA78 this year has a different tone - but the global health community is slowly moving away from agonizing over the US aid loss & moving into organizing to #ENDAIDS, secure #HIV prevention & #integration with @frontlineaids an integral part in this transition period.
It is terrifying and inspirational to be at #WHA78 this year. Persevering together with courage and creativity could help us to deal with grief and find new solutions for the way forward #EndAIDS#WHA78@frontlineaids
