One of the biggest challenges the US military will face is the prisoner’s dilemma of building ‘careful’ autonomous weapons when facing opponents who frankly don’t care.

I believe AI is going to be discerning and good enough to be able to be fully autonomous on the battlefield. So maybe that’s a third option in the middle
