Message to these individuals: Stop looking for jobs and create one. From the early 1990’s, I moved back home to the jobs capital of the world Wheeling, WV, after successful careers around the US. I have since created three consecutive new jobs for myself resulting in consumer services companies that have done very well. The hard way.
Now with AI, since February I am creating my next new job designing a self funded enterprise B2B company. So far, I am responsible for 48 separate functions. This will continue through hiring a founding engineer as soon as my founder led sales with hand made screen shots demonstrating what I want to provide seeking pre product market fit.
What I knew about any of this before January would fit in a thimble. Like the previous two and current successful company.
I describe to our leadership team, with whom I have shared the latest dream, it is like walking down a gravel road blindfolded on a moonless night.
The only way I know I am moving forward is hearing the gravel beneath my feet. If I step and do not hear gravel I quickly step back onto the gravel. This might go on for months, walking blindfolded on a gravel road. (Soon to be seeking pre product market fit.)
I stay calm the entire time with measured breathing, never letting fear inside. Then in spite of the blindfold, I see the slightest glimmer on the horizon. I don’t get excited. I just keep moving forward.
Three times in a row since my forties. Doing it again at 72.
Go out and get started versus looking for the kind of job you used to have. Do anything to remain liquid while doing so. Our team knows all year I have been working “doubles”, the industrial age term for two consecutive 8 hour shifts. All day for them, and “afternoon shift” on my new job.
God Bless.
@SprinterPress Translation: Macron ordered that not wanting to be remembered for letting Louvre burn. Everything else? People will forget.
Or his masters agreed to spare it and he will make some points with the public.
New!! Cloudflare Cut 20%. Atlassian Cut 10%. Bending Spoons Cuts 75%. All Three Are Growing Faster or Earning More. So How Lean Can B2B Teams Really Get?
Small teams ship more.
The cuts worked where AI agents already did the work.

@JonErlichman@elonmusk I started with $10,000 permanent capital in 1995, providing consumer services. Thirty one years later the company is worth approximately $8MM. And I am never selling.
